Here is a little Christmas cheer for you.
A Cedar City Christmas Poem
By Dan Kidder
T'was the night before the holiday, Christmas gone out of fad.
And I sat in my bluster going stark raving mad.
The fireplace sat there with nary a log
The installers had tippled a bit too much nog.
The stockings weren't hung; the courts had an injunction
But all of the bureaucrats still refused to function
Pelosi and Reid had us all in a worry
Their holiday gift meant the end in a hurry
The kitties were dozing 'neath the yule tree so barren
Couldn't have lights, carbon footprint we're hearin'
My meager gifts were passed out and I would soon join them
After drinking too much Jack, George, and Captain
When what to my wondering ears should I hear
A racket of epic proportion was near.
Glen Beck was on fire and Rush was a blazin'
Hannity said some things quite amazin'
The reindeer were hangin above mantles 'round town
A great year for hunting up the mountain and down
No, Santa would be without his swift coursers this year
And children in Cedar would have no presents, I fear.
But then in the distance, I saw them a coming
In jackets quite red, a tune they were humming
Men who were fat and men who were bald,
Some that were short and some that were tall
They bent to their task, not a groan passed their lips
As they tugged and they pulled and a couple of times slipped
Each one had a smile that from their face beamed
And I knew them in a moment from their crisp pressed seams
As they grew closer, my heart swelled with pride
For the tune they were humming I soon recognized
"From the Halls of Montezuma, to the Shores of Tripoli"
That Hymn swelled in volume, meaning everything to me
And what were they pulling, and for what did they labor
But a sleigh full of toys to bring to their neighbors
They passed by my door and I ran to their side
Picked up a line, and joined with the tide
Of all of the missions these men had completed,
This one each year was really most needed
The boxes collected, these men went about
Delivering Christmas to many without
Toys for Tots was upon us and we were delighted
Each and every window we passed soon was lighted
As people stood watching from their porches aglow
Joy and happiness soon mingled into the flow
And up on the sleigh, stood a Gunny at 'tention
The gleam in his eye was too bright to mention
The stripes on his sleeve, the ribbons on his chest
Told all those watching that this was the best
In a voice that boomed like a Howitzer firing
He called to the children, from beds now a stirring
"Santa was delayed by hot air over DC
We came to his call, and don't care if it's PC."
"Now Tommy and Rhonda, and Jamal, and Tyrone
Casandra, and Jasmine," his list carried on
"Hiroko, and Bobby, Samantha and Heather"
Every child he called was gathered together.
And each one was given a present so dear
A very small token of this time of the year
And soon all the children had gifts they could cherish
And everyone knew that Christmas would not perish
And as we headed away and off into the night
The Gunny stood tall and gazed left and then right
And a tiny tear formed and slid from his eye
"Mission Accomplished Sir, goodnight and goodbye"
Then he snapped a salute and ordered "move out"
And all of the men in red jackets did shout
"Semper Fi" just as loud as their hearts would allow
"We'll be back next year," they all did avow.
And we trudged down the road, more children to see
Bringing the spirit of Christmas from you and from me.
The Gunny looked back , and gave all a wave
Vanishing into the night, for Christmas to save.

Wouldn't it be nice if our Members of Congress had to live under all of the laws they pass for us. Well, Rep. John Fleming (R-LA) has a solution at least as far as it concerns the lousy health care plan the government is trying to force down our throats; make any member of Congress who votes for it choose it for themselves and their families. Sounds like a good plan to me. Urge your Member of Congress to support House Resolution 615. Watch the video above for more.

A Convenient Lie
By Dan Kidder
Al Gore won a Pulitzer Prize for his his seminal work An Inconvenient Truth on man's impact on global temperature. What he failed to disclose is that overall temperature increase is a naturally occurring phenomena that has more to do with solar radiation cycles then man-made "greenhouse gases" such as carbon dioxide.
A recent report endorsed by more than 9,000 leading experts in their fields shows a direct correlation between solar flare activity and irradiance from solar activity while demonstrating zero correlation between hydrocarbon use and increased global temperatures.
This report, written by Arthur B. Robinson, Noah E. Robinson, and Willie Soon of the Oregon Institute of Science and Medicine, has been peer reviewed (unlike most of the research supporting global warming) and has been endorsed by 9,029 scientists.
The danger here is that this shoddy science is nothing more than a scam to tax vital industrially useful energy sources, while also preventing developing nations from increased prosperity which would provide robust competition for industrial superpowers such as Japan, where the 1996 Kyoto Accord was signed.
On another front, a report in the Investor's Business Daily claims the Obama Administration ordered the Environmental Protection Agency to suppress a report finding fault with United Nations data on global warming. The EPA Endangerment Analysis took issue with the U.N.'s alarmist 2007 Fourth Assesment claiming it used outdated data and that newer data actually provides a downward trend in planetary temperatures.
"Given the downward trend in temperatures since 1998 (which some think will continue until at least 2030), there is no particular reason to rush into decisions based on a scientific hypothesis that does not appear to explain most of the available data." From the EPA's Endagerment Analysis.
The reason for the supression of this report, according to IBD is to prevent opposition to the newly passed Cap and Trade Legislation , which will increase energy costs for every American and is the largest de facto tax increase in U.S. history. Read their Op-Ed here.
So all of this shoddy science, suppressed reports, and activism for a false cause must have a motive. The motive is manipulation. By claiming the sky is falling, or more accurately that the earth is warming, legislators can impose a panacea of draconian environmental laws that give them extraordinary control. By hoodwinking the masses, the lawmakers have found ways to implement their socialist agenda with the permission of those they seek to enslave.
As a byproduct, the global warming myth is used for other purposes, such as limiting hunting of Polar Bears, increasing CAFE standards for automobiles, limiting control of food sources, and whatever symptomless disease over-zealous law makers can devise to save the world from us.
The global warming lie is about control and power and has nothing to do with science or protecting mother Earth. Isn't it time we stood up and told our lawmakers to stop lying to us. Or better yet, maybe we should be looking for their replacements. After all, by their own admission, too much hot air isn't good for the planet, and it certainly isn't good for America.
Read the summarized report here. You can sign the petition if you like but online petitions are about as effective as a fart in the wind. Votes are better.

Hamas Leader calls for Anthrax Attack on America
By Dan Kidder
Go watch this video and see what we are dealing with. This is the leader of Hamas calling on his followers to carry out an Anthrax attack on the U.S.
He talks about how 4 lbs of Anthrax could wipe out more than 300,000 Americans in less than an hour. He talks about being brave enough to carry this poison through a tunnel from Mexico to the U.S.
Notice the laughter when he talks about how this will make 9/11 look like nothing. Listen as he talks about "sprinkling this confetti" on the White House lawn. Hear him discuss how Al Queda has chemists, nuclear physicists, and other scientists who can make this happen. Hear him tell how Hezbollah is making these weapons right now and selling them to Bulgaria and Hungary, as well as terrorist organizations across the globe.
Afraid yet? You should be.
These people will not rest until we send them to a permanent rest. We need to declare war on Islam and kill them before they kill us.
Those who claim this isn't a holy war have not read the Koran. I have and we are the only ones who haven't figured out that we have been fighting a holy war for many years now. Unless we target those who follow the Koran, we will never know safety or peace.
Ethnic cleansing, genocide, whatever you want to call it, America better wake up and realize it is us or them. They leave no room in the middle for us both to continue to coexist.
These are the friends Mr. Obama wants to make. These are the terrorists that he wants to release on American cities from Guantanamo Bay. These are the killers he wants to invite to the White House and have dialogue with. As the speaker says in the video, "there is no room for dialog." At least he gets one thing right.
Once you have watched the above video, check out this one, and see what Hamas has to say about us.
Then make sure you have plenty of ammo on hand to deal with the very real threat to the American way of life.

The Hollywood Double Standard
By Dan Kidder
So when Alec Baldwin or Barbara Streisand get up and flap their gums about the state of the world, promoting cowardice in the Middle East, criticizing American values, bashing all that is good and decent, promoting gay marriage, they are hailed as brave and wonderful Americans for taking a stand.
How is it then that Miss California, Carrie Prejean is lambasted by every media outlet save one for taking a similar stand by expressing her opposition to gay marriage during the Miss USA pageant?
Is there a severe disconnect between what Hollywood says and does, of that there is little doubt. But do they not even see the immense double standard? Do they really think they should have the ability to bravely espouse whatever political view they want with no repercussions, and then have the nerve to vilify another for doing the same?
When Hollywood speaks, they know they have freedom to say whatever politically correct thing they want, so therefore the only thing that must not be said is that which is not politically correct.
Well, Hollywood can't have it both ways. Either they can accept that someone has the right to express their opinion without being called a socialist or a bigot or they don't. If Miss Prejean desires to express her opinion, at so high a cost as the Miss USA crown, then they should be congratulating her for her brave defense of an unpopular opinion.
Miss Prejean's Answer to her position on gay marriage was far from inflamatory, it just didn't toe the Hollywood line. "We live in a land where you can choose same-sex marriage or opposite. And you know what, I think in my country, in my family, I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman. No offense to anybody out there, but that's how I was raised."
What is ironic is that it nearly parrots the response given to a similar question by President Barack Hussein Obama during a presidential debate.
"I do not support gay marriage. Marriage has religious and social connotations, and I consider marriage to be between a man and a woman." Obama wrote in his questionnaire to the Human Rights Campaign during his 2008 presidential bid.
Where was Hollywood's approbation and condemnation for his answer?
By jumping on the bash Prejean bandwagon, Hollywood activists are negating their own stances and their rights to express their opinions on political matters. If that is the case, they should take their own advice and just "sit down and shut up."

Running Scared In America
By Dan Kidder
Go into your local sporting goods store and you will find the hunting department is nearly wiped out of guns and ammo. The same is true everywhere you look. As new cases of ammo are shipped to your favorite retailer, they are immediately snapped up before they can even reach the shelves. The BATFE has even run out of the firearms background check forms Form 4437.
The mainstream infotainment peddlers will tell you that this is because of irrational fears of conspiracy and gun nuts, all of whom existed prior to the current political and economic situation.
I am proud to be a recruiter for the National Rifle Association. As a recruiter, I receive a weekly report from the NRA telling how many people have joined with my application and whether they are a new member or a renewal of a previous membership.
I have begun to notice a recent pattern that you will never hear about in the mainstream infotainment. Nearly 85 percent of memberships from my application are from new members to the NRA.
Contrary to what the mainstream infotainment is telling you, those folks who are joining the NRA are not the preexisting gun owners, they are regular Joes and Janes like you who realize that in these uncertain economic times when rumblings from Washington are talking about limiting your right to bear arms, membership in an organization that has fought and continues to fight to protect your rights is no longer a luxury, but an absolute necessity.
During the years of the Clinton Administration, when the Attorney General’s Office was driving gun shops out of business, the NRA stood up and fought back. When states with right to carry laws tried to throw up administrative hurdles to your right to bear arms, the NRA spent millions in the courts protecting those who were denied or delayed from owning a gun. When Congress banned so called “assault weapons” the NRA made those Members of Congress pay with their jobs.
As we enter one of the worst economic eras in our nation’s history, we can expect that average Americans are growing increasingly more concerned for their personal safety and the safety of their loved ones and property. New members are joining the NRA in record numbers, and the organization may even swell their ranks past the 4 million-member mark this year alone. Many of those who are joining have never belonged to the organization before.
In addition to supporting an organization that is fighting for your rights, membership has other privileges. Members receive great publications like American Rifleman, American Hunter, or America’s First Freedom, that let them know of ways they can get more involved and efforts in various states and from the federal government designed to strip them of their rights.
Whether you have been a lifelong member of the NRA, or never thought the organization was for you, I urge you to click here and join today. If you are already a member, use the application to sign up friends and relatives so we can help this great organization reach their 4 million member goal, and more importantly, send a message to those who deny our rights that we are a strong united community of gun owners who will not lie down quietly.

Obama Administration Lies To Americans About Mexican Guns
A Body of Lies
By Dan Kidder
The current administration wants Americans to believe that law-abiding gun owners are the cause of violence in Mexico. They want us to believe this so badly that their assistant director for field operations of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (BATFE) is willing to mislead Congress, either intentionally or unintentionally, into believing that “"there is more than enough evidence to indicate that over 90 percent of the firearms that have either been recovered in, or interdicted in transport to Mexico, originated from various sources within the United States."
The problem is, it just isn’t so. What William Hoover should have said to Congress is that 90 percent of the guns traced by BATFE that were confiscated from Mexican drug traffickers originated from the United States.
The difference is vast. According to Fox News Reporter William La Jeunesse, Mexican authorities only sent those guns that were of obvious American Manufacture or which bore traceable serial numbers to American authorities for tracing.
"Not every weapon seized in Mexico has a serial number on it that would make it traceable, and the U.S. effort to trace weapons really only extends to weapons that have been in the U.S. market," Matt Allen, special agent of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), told FOX News.
In actuality, only a small percentage of the guns captured by Mexican authorities were sent to the U.S. for tracing. Mexican authorities confiscated around 29,000 firearms from criminals. Of that 29,000, 68 percent were never submitted to the U.S. for tracing. Around 11,000 guns were, and the BATFE was only willing or able to trace 6,000 of them. Of that 6,000, 5,114 were traced to sources within the U.S. Ninety percent of those traced (5,114 out 29,000) originated in the U.S., leaving 83 percent of the guns confiscated originating somewhere other than the United States.
So, Hoover mis-spoke, is that really a lie? No, we are willing to give him the benefit of the doubt on that one. What is a lie is once the data were shown to be incorrect, other lawmakers, and the mainstream infotainment networks continued to promote them.
"It is unacceptable to have 90 percent of the guns that are picked up in Mexico and used to shoot judges, police officers and mayors ... come from the United States,” said Senator Diane Feinstein during a hearing.
The issue here is that gun banners across the nation, including the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, are using the figure, despite the small fact that it is blatantly false, to push their anti-gun agenda. They tell us that in order to help curb border violence and reduce crime in Mexico, we need more “reasonable” restrictions on gun ownership in the U.S. You know, things like the so-called Assault Weapons Ban that would outlaw the .22 rifle used by boy scouts to earn their marksmanship merit badge and most 12-gauge shotguns used for duck hunting.
“More than 90% of the guns used by the drug cartels originate from U.S. gun sellers.” From the Brady Campaign’s report How Our Weak Gun Laws Arm Criminals in Mexico and America, March 2009.
Columnist E.J. Dionne used the numbers in a recent Washington Post editorial calling on the Obama Administration to stand up to the gun lobby. And President Obama used the number in a joint press conference with Mexican President Felipe Calderon six days after the numbers were found to be false.
Even if 90 percent of the guns used in Mexican crimes were coming from the U.S., that is not our problem. There are laws against arms trafficking and they should be enforced. Mexican authorities need to do a better job of protecting their border against the illegal influx of guns. But the reality is that only a very small portion of the guns used in Mexican crimes originate in the U.S., with most of them coming from Brazil and Russia, according to ICE.
Many Americans fear that if 90 percent of the guns used in Mexican crime along the U.S./ Mexico Border were coming from the U.S., it would just be a matter of time before they were used on Americans in cross border skirmishes. Given the new data, Americans can rest assured that if these Mexican criminals bring their violence to American soil, it won’t be with guns from the U.S.
But to use this crisis as a straw man against straw purchases is an inexcusable abuse of power, and outright lie to backdoor stricter gun control measures on honest gun owners.
Fortunately, we are able to see through their body of lies to what lies beneath – the truth.
